Arabica or Robusta?

It is often thought that the “Good” quality of coffee originates from the type used, and Arabica is known as the best one. Yet, who knows raw material well, is aware that in the Robusta type exists coffees of excellent quality while in Arabica type, coffees that are not particularly refined.

It is more necessary instead, to take into account the following factors:
  • The quality and origins of the single species.
  • The proportions used: Robusta confers body, provides the cream and transforms a good coffee into an outstanding espresso.
  • Roasting: in our case neither excessive nor fast.
  • Personal Taste. Let’s keep in mind that Arabica has a more spicy taste, characterized by high acidity and an inferior content of caffeine while Robusta has a more bitter taste and a more robust body.
